" A Victorious Life"

Romans 12:1-2.. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Part of our christian life is growing and once you and I get saved we have the promise of eternal life but we still have a enemy who wants to destry you and I and ruin our testimony.

1Peter 5:8..Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walkthe about, seeking whom he may devour:

As that lion waits to jump on that weak and helpless prey that he has been stalking. Te devil is wanting to do the same thing to you and I. I have seen people get so on fire for the Lord and then they start to fizzle out and soon they end up getting defeated. Why does that often happen? because they never let go of the old world, once you get saved your going to have to decide who you want to serve. You can't serve two masters.

Matthew 6:24.. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Because if you try to serve the old man and the new man you will end up defeated and the way you will have victory is to wake up and die everyday. Die daily to the flesh which is the old nature, So what you and I need to do to keep the victory in our Christian lives we will have to live a yielded life unto God.

Yield:To be under subjection to Christ and to be obedient to him

And if we learn to put our whole body under subjection unto God and obey him we will have no problem with a yielded life and have true victory over the flesh. So what do we have to yield unto God.

1. Our Eyes should be yielded

Psalms 101:3a.. I will set no wicked things before mine eyes:

The things we look at, the things we read. We have to gaurd our eyes and yield them unto God.

2. Our Ears should be yielded

It is amazing that christians will listen to almost anything.

2Timothy 4:7.. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Our ears yield to the right kind of music and not to listen to gossip.

How are your ears yielded to the things of God.

3. Our Tongues should be yielded

James 1:26.. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Does your speech show you have a yielded tongue, what is your conversation like. Do you gossip, do you back bit others.

If you do any of that then your tongue is not yielded unto God.

4. Our Minds should be yielded

Philippians 4:8.. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virture, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Our minds determine what our eyes, hands, feet and tongue do. And if  we follow Phil. 4:8 We will have no problem yielding our mind unto God.

5. Our Hearts should be yielded

Jer. 17:9..The heart is deceitful aboveall things, and desperately wicked:who can know it?

You can fool alot of people but you will not fool God. You might fool your pastor, spouse, fellow church members but you will never fool God.

1Sam. 16:7b..for man looketh on the outward appearence, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

It all starts in the heart once you ge your heart yielded then you will have no problem getting your mind, eyes and ears yielded unto God.

Then you can have a VICTORIOUS life unto God.

   Until next month
